User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1) Gecko/20060922 BonEcho/2.0
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1) Gecko/20060922 BonEcho/2.0
CPU hits constant 45-50% load. Lagging in every aspect of the browser. (Slow to close the tab, click on link, view menus, scroll, change tab, etc.) Once offending page is closed, Java plugin remains open in the taskbar, and CPU remains at 45-50%, and lagging continues.
This bug has randomly crashed my browser.
This bug does not occur if Java is turned off in the Options panel.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
Open the offending page in a tab, (you must have an Insider subscription, there is a free trial offer if anyone needs to just test it for 30 days.) Leave the tab containing the page open while you go and surf to other pages in other tabs.

3 questions:
Do you still see this using current trunk?
Do the offending pages have flash player images? (If so, what happens if you install flashblock?)
Does turning off java affect what is displayed?
There is no way to test this at the moment, because it isn't during the college football season, nor do I have an insider account to test it. I will be able to test it in September, if they continue to use the same code as last year.
Ok, go here today, this evening and you will see it: http://scores.espn.go.com/ncf/scoreboard?confId=80&weekNumber=14&seasonYear=2007
This bug also affects IE, but hopefully, that doesn't mean it can't be fixed.

Ignore the original comment regarding Java and the subscription only aspect. That may be still occurring, but is almost impossible for Firefox developers to debug and deal with. Instead, this bug needs to deal with the current ESPN scoreboard issue that can be tested without a subscription, that has similar symptoms, and does not deal in Java.
Should check back with this bug in Fall 2008, as that will be the next time it can be tested.

It would be good if someone else could actually confirm this behavior. What is your testecase based on comment 6? Breakpad crash id?

Yeah, no kidding! :) I have tried to get others to test it in the past, but to no avail, because they have to be checking it while the games are going on. Since it has been a while, I don't have a breakpad crash id. This is why I said that this bug should be checked back into on Saturdays in the Fall of this year (in America), when the games are being played.
