Mozilla 1.7.11 detecs all the installed plugins (they're on a seperate plugin folder in the network) and can also use them, while the latest Firefox doesn't load them at all. When I type "about:plugins" the list is empty. Reproducible: Always
Did you set a environment variable like MOZ_PLUGIN_PATH for Mozilla 1.7.11 to detect the plugins?
