User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1b2) Gecko/20060821 Firefox/2.0b2 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1b2) Gecko/20060821 Firefox/2.0b2 Flash drop down menus disappear behind flash adds. This may be particular to flash instead of Firefox as this happens in both Firefox 2 beta 2 and Firefox 1.5.07 under Kubuntu 6.06LTS (Dapper). Best Buy's site isn't the only one. Asus, Gigabyte, and others as well. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Visted www.bestbuy.com used flash menu to navigate site. Unable to see entire flash menu due to larger flash ad blocking or over ridding the menu. 2.Visted www.asus.com.tw. Same issue. 3.Visted www.giga-byte.com. Again, same issue Actual Results: No special steps necessary. Just visit each site and attempt to use the drop down flash menus. Expected Results: The larger flash advertisement overrode the flash menus (i.e. you couldn't see all the menu). Again, I'm not sure if this is an issue with Firefox or with the only version of Linux Flash Player till we get version 9 sometime next year. It is however annoying. If it's an issue with Macromedia's flash player, I'll happily report it there instead.
This bug was just varified with Kubuntu and Konqueror. Using Konqueror the flash menus appear properly over the larger flash advertisement. It's obviously the way Firefox handles the Linux flash player as Konqueror is Mozilla based as well. Guess I'll still have to use Konqueror for some sites and Firefox for others (noteably FedoraForum.org having to use Firefox because Konqueror can't handle it).
