User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win 9x 4.90; en-US; rv:1.8.1) Gecko/20060918 Firefox/2.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win 9x 4.90; en-US; rv:1.8.1) Gecko/20060918 Firefox/2.0 After I upgraded (thanks to a FARK thread announcing the new release), I experiencd this immediately. It was also mentioned in the thread. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Go to site to either log in, or use a form of some sort. 2.Try to use TAB key to move cursor from blank to blank 3.Try to use arrow keys, or pgup pgdn keys to scroll 4. Notice failure to do so in all cases with quizzical expression Actual Results: I had to resort to the mouse to scroll (mine has a roller for that), or to re-place the cursor in a new box on the form. Expected Results: In previous versions, the TAB key worked flawlessly when dealing with forms, and the buttons also served their purpose without fail when scrolling up and down a web page.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1) Gecko/20060929 BonEcho/2.0 Do you mean that tab and arrow keys don't work on these bugzilla pages? I don't see that. Maybe you have caret browsing turned on? Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Always use the cursor keys to navigate within pages
I tried changing the settings. Performance does not change. I went back to MySpace.com, and tried using the TAB key to move the cursor from box to box on the form to log in. The cursor did not move. I also used the pgup and pgdn keys to scroll. No function. This feature was fully functional in Firefox before I upgraded to the new build. I appreciate your suggestion :)
Is this still a problem? If so, can the original reporter answer some questions so we can narrow it down? 1. If you use your mouse to click once on a text box, do you see a blinking caret inside the box? If so, can you then press TAB to move to the next form control? 2. If you use your mouse to click once on an empty part of the page (background or margin), can you then press PgUp and PgDn to scroll?
I've just encountered the same behavior as the original reporter (I've never posted before, so sorry if I'm doing anything wrong). To answer Mark Pilgrim's questions, yes I see a blinking caret in text boxes, and no, cannot tab out with tab key. And correct, I cannot use arrow keys to scroll on a page. Your question makes me guess you know the cause. I'm using version 2.0 (did a fresh install, didn't help) on XP. Also tried changing the setting referenced by Ria Klaassen and that did not help. The behavior began after I changed many extension settings, mostly in Tab Mix Plus. I removed Tab Mix Plus and the problem persists. I don't want to remove all extensions, so I will continue to look for another solution.
I cannot TAB from box to box. If I move the cursor onto the screen, I can't use buttons to scroll down.
This was fixed for me by disabling the "paste and go" extension. More details at http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=497097
So is this INVALID since it was caused by an extension? Reporter, do you still see this problem?
