There was no talkback, no error, nothing in Task Manager. Nothing! Thank goodness I have the drafts thing do auto-save periodically, or I would have lost a lot. I still did experience dataloss, but just not as bad as if it hadn't saved. It did this while I was in the message and adding a contact. Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: 1. Created message 2. Adding recipients 3. Crashed! Actual Results: Entire Thunderbird application just up and disappeared without any warnings or messages. Expected Results: Keep composing message, then send message and go to check for new incoming messages after. No talkback either.

By "no talkback either", I mean I have it installed, but it didn't fire up.

Did it again today. This time, I hit the forward button, and the whole thing just closed shop completely. I waited a little to see if it would come up, and checked the task manager, but I had to restart the program. The forward worked the second time I tried it.

So, was it present in the task manager list of processes? I sometimes see the program "disappear" from the program list (hm, windows bottom bar of open programs), but I can still access them using alt+tab. Maybe that was what you were seeing? I think its a windows bug, have seen it happen with other apps too.

Well, I don't have any rhyme or reason as to when it might happen, but I don't see any specific fixes either. It isn't WFM or fixed, so maybe just wait until the next beta?

unless we can get a reproducible test case, not much we can do for tb final.

if talkback didn't get triggered the problem could be anything. Did you have spell check turned on? If so this is likely a dupe of bug 357861 - which emerged at about the same time as your bug report. Do you agree?

Hard to say. Might just leave it open, but not blocking as a future placeholder in case it happens again. No good way to trigger it, but no know fix either.

since spell check was on duping - it was a frequent and predictable crasher at that time. feel free to reopen if you see it again on a recent build.

But why no talkback? Or can Talkback also crash with it?

Was the lack of Talkback part of this particular crash?
