User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.8.1) Gecko/20060918 Firefox/2.0
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.8.1) Gecko/20060918 Firefox/2.0

I enabled autoscrolling in about:config. Using a two-button, no-wheel mouse, I clicked both buttons together. In 1.5.x this action brings up the autoscroll icon and I can autoscroll by moving the mouse up and down. In 2.0 RC1, the context menu pops up but autoscrolling is not enabled.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.get a 2-button mouse
2.enable autoscrolling
3.on any long page, click both mouse buttons at the same time.
4. autoscrolling should be turned on, but it isn't

Actual Results:
context menu pops up

Expected Results:
autoscrolling should be enabled

works fine in 1.5.0.7
Reporter, do you still see this problem with the latest Firefox 2? If not, can you please close this bug as WORKSFORME. Thanks!

Do you still see this problem using Firefox 3.5? Please update the bug, and close/alter bug if appropriate.

does it happen with a new profile in 3.5.6 or later? Also, please update your mouse drivers.
Yup -- happens with updated mouse drivers and a new profile using 3.5.6. FWIW this bug report has been open since October of 2006 -- more than three years ago. In that time I've upgraded from Firefox 2.x to 3.5.6 and from Windows 2000 to Windows XP. Though I get asked every now and then if the problem exists with the latest version, I'm not sure that the bug report is being looked at. Granted it is low priority since the autoscroll is more of a convenience than a necessity. Still, 3.25 years seems a bit long.
You must remember that we have hundreds of thousands of bugs, and the majority of people who work on these bugs are volunteers who donate their own time to work on them. We might not be able to work on all bugs quickly, and some will slip through the cracks.
I am not seeing scrolling issues with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.3a1pre) Gecko/20100103 Minefield/3.7a1pre (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) ID:20100103050619 (granted my mouse is different). Maybe try installing a trunk build and see if it makes a difference.
