Tabbed browsing is great. Its nice to see a close button for each tab. However it would be even better to also have the ability to minimize a tab, should I not want to close it completely. This feature is seen in the Opera browser and is handy.

What do you mean by minimize? There is already a 'pin tab' option, reducing the tab to a small thumbnail. Is that what you are looking for?

I believe that the Tab Groups feature is able to do this quite well https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/tab-groups-organize-tabs

As James said, the ability to pin tabs also covers this enhancement. Unless there's a different way you'd like to be able to minimize tabs that hasn't been mentioned I move that this bug be marked as either WONTFIX or INCOMPLETE.

I'm going to change this from Windows XP x86 to "All" as this appears to be a feature request not specific to Windows XP

We don't have any plans to implement this. Pinned tabs should cover this enough.
