There are significant differences among spelling for American, British and Canadian English.  Please refer to this following URLs:

As it stands, Thunderbird has a Canadian English dictionary, but the spell-checker does not.  Only American, British and Australian English are available.

I'm willing to contribute to the effort but I don't know how to write a Firefox extension.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to any site with a text field.
2. Right-click on text field
3. Languages > Add Dictionaries.

Actual Results:  
Canadian English is not an option on the spell-checker extensions page.

Expected Results:  
Canadian English is an option on the spell-checker extensions page.
