It would be really useful if the Linux version of firefox came with a plugin that looks in usual locations (e.g. /usr/java) for an installed JRE, and then automatically linked with the real Java plugin if present.  That way you could just install a JDK or JRE and have the browser automatically Java-enabled, without having to move the Java plugin into mozilla/plugins.
