We need two files (will be attached shortly) added to the root of developer.mozilla.org, and the following line of code added to the wiki skin template: <script src="/__utm.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
Attached image transparent gif
Attached file javascript code
How will we know if it's correct? Is there some test page we can check, or a tool we can point at the page to make sure it's correct before we push it live? Also: I presume the JS file should be saved as __utm.js -- what should the image be called?
Oops. Didn't realize the files got un/renamed when attached. The gif should be __utm.gif I don't know about testing. Maybe that's a question for IT?
Unless I am mistaken, and we have the server-side stuff hosted on a Mozilla Server directly, I don't think we need the gif image locally. This, of course, Assuming "Urchin" == "Analytics" (just a more professional version). As, otherwise, how will Urchin itself know there was a request done against the image?
You are mistaken.
