Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.7) Gecko/20060909 Firefox/1.5.0.7
Build Identifier: Thunderbird 1.5.0.7 (Windows/20060909)
I normally have my IMAP folders sorted ascending by subject, unread messages only. When I press mark all messages as read, the message list sorting changes to ascending by date. This behavior does not occur if the View is set to all messages.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Switch to a folder not sorted ascending by date and with the View set to Unread.
2. Press Ctrl-Shift-C or otherwise mark all read.
3. Observe the message list sort changes to ascending by date.
Actual Results:
The resultant behavior was as described in the Details section.
Expected Results:
The sorting should not change if I mark all messages read.

Yes, I have the following extensions installed and enabled:
MessageFaces 1.1.2
Quote Colors 0.2.8
Talkback 2.0.0.9
If they count, I also have the following themes installed:
Azerty 'mail 3.0
Thunderbird (default) 2.0
I'm using the Azerty 'mail 3.0 theme.
The same behavior is observed with Thunderbird started with safe mode (no extensions).

removing Status Whiteboard message since reporter has provided more information. Now just requires someone else's confirmation.

Windows XP SP2, Thunderbird 2.0.0.14 (20080421)
Extensions(1): Talkback Themes(1): Default
I have experienced this behavior for many versions.
Using Darren's reproduction steps, I observe the same actual results as reported in the description above. (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=357620#c0)
