Links inside Flash movies that trigger new windows or pop up windows are blocked by default (privacy.popups.disable_from_plugins set to 2 by default [1]), even when initiated by the user. But Camino's popup blocker fails to display the warning that the window has been blocked, allowing the user to white-list the site.

Both Branch 1.8 and Trunk. Firefox and Minefield behave correctly (show the popup warning).

This is different for bug 355808.
Yes, it does... I've tested with Camino 1.0.3, built-in pop-up blocking enabled, and popups.disable_from_plugins=2 (default value) and I saw the pop-up blocker notification in the status bar when I clicked on the Flash links the would open a new window.
So our popup code needs to set that pref as well, would that suffice?
In what way is this different than bug 355808? It sounds exactly the same to me.
I think only in that, before you figured out what was going on, it seemed bug 355808 was about some JS popups not triggering the bar and this seemed like it was all plugin popups not triggering the bar.
