Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.7) Gecko/20060909 Firefox/1.5.0.7 Mnenhy/0.7.4.0 Build Identifier: version 1.5.0.7 (20060909) If message is long enough to have vertical scroll bars created and user selects some text and attempts to "carry" it to a position not currently visible (I think) the window should be auto-scrolled when the cursor reaches the top or bottom. Instead of the text being auto scrolled up/or down NOTHING happens. Note: I just realized when I tried it in *THIS* input field it is problem with both Firefox AND Thunderbird. I just encounter it more frequently in Thunderbird than I do with text boxes in FireFox Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Select some text and position cursor just below it with left Mopuse down. 2. Cursor changes to arrow with "carry box" 3. Drag up until you reach the top of displayed of input area. 4. Nothing happens Expected Results: Input message area should scroll down so carried text can be moved upward. I just tried doing the same thing in Internet Explorer in a text input area. Once the vertical scroll bars have been created then selected text can be carried/dragged up and the window area will scroll to allow this, Same thing if dragging it down to an area not currently visible.
Turns out this is a fairly old bug. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 187751 ***
