I do not know what caused this change, soryy. I will check that as soon as this happens again.

Moving the mouse cursor along the bookmarks will make them displayed. Especially look for the 1px spaces between the displayed elements. The black bar is made with the Gimp, and has nothing to do with the problem itself.

Rendering of the page is still not completely correct after reloading it. The fine line under the tabs is missing.

I had another look: * this seems to be site-specific, i.e., other web sites do not trigger that behavior * happens only on initial start of Firefox, opening a new window of a running instance works flawlessly * opening a new tab (in whatever way) completely fixes the issue, everything is fine after

I'm going to take a wild guess and say you clear your cache on exit.

Well, no, I don't.
Now, this bug showed when opening a new window, not only on a complete restart of FF.
