It worked with the previous (last before 2.0) version of Firefox. It works with Tool->Clear Private Data. Reproducible: Always

works for me in 2.0, at least judging by my empty cookies file. What data is not getting cleared?
works for me in ff2.0/winxp. I am prompted with the clear private data dialog on exit. All of my history, cache, cookies, passwords and authenticated sessions are cleared. Do you still see the same problem if you start in safe mode?
I think I'm seeing the same problem on my SuSe 9.1. I just downloaded firefox 2.0 and when I click quit it does not prompt me as I expect, but instead the window is closed and the process hangs around. This is actually extremely annoying since it interferes with thunderbird when it tries to open firefox and it can because some stale process hangs around. When I kill the process myself and then start firefox, the dialog finally comes and prompts me to clear my private data.
Can you open up about:config and see what the privacy.sanitize.promptOnSanitize and privacy.sanitize.sanitizeOnShutdown preferences are set to?
Firefox is set to clear all private data, except the "Saved Passwords", without asking for confirmation ("Ask me before clearing private data" is *not* ticked.) At least, it does *not* clear "Browsing History" and "Authenticated Sessions". I did not verified the others. I answer on Monday 30th about other uncleared items, "safe mode" and privacy.sanitize.promptOnSanitize.
privacy.sanitize.promptOnSanitize user set boolean false privacy.sanitize.sanitizeOnShutdown user set boolean true
The same problem starting on "safe mode". All private data stays; e.g., cookies. etc.
With privacy.sanitize.promptOnSanitize user set boolean true It does not prompt and the private data stays. One might as well make it public, so people clear it with Tools->Clear Private Data
The bug has disappeared. All the private data is cleared out without prompting as set: privacy.sanitize.promptOnSanitize user set boolean false privacy.sanitize.sanitizeOnShutdown user set boolean true The only thing that I did was to set and unset that above parameters with Tools->Options At present, I do not know how to duplicate the bug. Except if the bug re-appear, I will not report anymore. Question: Should the status be changed ?
I guess we'll resolve as WFM for now. I'm slightly concerned that this could be another pref. migration issue between 1.5 and 2.0, though. We can reopen if we get any duplicate reports of the issue.
