Steve Godwin complained (via email) that our current style of address munging led to random addresses at his domain being used as the return address for spam. We should change things so this is no longer possible.
Various ideas have been kicked around. IMO, we want to keep getting email addresses from people in as many cases as possible. We may, after all, want to contact them later.
We already state that the email address is optional and will be obfuscated, so I don't think we need any more discouragement. Let's just beef up the munging to something that requires a human brain to decode.
My suggestion is the equivalent of gervatgervdotnet.
