User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.8.1) Gecko/20061010 Firefox/2.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.8.1) Gecko/20061010 Firefox/2.0 I just installed Firefox 2 and restarted my pc. On opening Firefox, the Location Bar is too deep and appears to fill four or five lines vertically. I can right-click the Navigation Toolbar and pull the Location Bar away, to leave what looks like a placeholder for a *normal-size* Location Bar and after the customise box is closed, there is no Location Bar there. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open Browser from cold or open a "New Window". 2. 3. Actual Results: No steps needed - it happens with every browser instance, including "new window" The Location Bar should be one or two lines deep. It is twice as deep as it should be. The Location Bar still works as expected, but the additional depth pushes the lower toolbars (navigation, bookmarks, etc) into the viewing area.
Can you please test with a new profile / Firefox running in Safe Mode ? (for Safe Mode see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode). Wfm for me on Firefox 2 and Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.8.1) Gecko/20061115 BonEcho/2.0

I changed this to "works for me" as re-installing and changing to the default theme resolved the issue. Apologies for not killing this sooner.
