User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.8.1) Gecko/20061010 Firefox/2.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.8.1) Gecko/20061010 Firefox/2.0 I'm running Firefox 2.0 with Vista RC 1. Today I installed the following three updates from Microsoft and after that Firefox would no longer work: Definition Update 1.14.1736.7 for BETA Windows Defender (KB915597) Definition Update for BETA Windows Mail Junk E-mail and Phishing Filter (KB925697) [October 2006] Intel Corporation - display - Intel(R) 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller Upon restarting Firefox it said a previous version was already running. Wouldn't work until I ran the uninstaller then reinstalled. Sincerely, Gordon Jones Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: 1. Need clean Vista RC1 without the patches 2. Download the patches and apply 3. Start Firefox
The updates were probably applied without Firefox being completely shutdown (likely running in the background) so the profile remained locked. See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_in_use for more information/future reference.
