when i was bowsing ebay thunderbird icon came up unexpectantly and when i clicked it it had no email page but the copy of web page i just looked through.

Any extensions installed?
Depending on what you saw of course, but maybe you clicked a mailto link where body content was filled in..?

only extensions are  lightniung,Enig mail, edit htm,custom button,display mail agent 
that doesnt work,Duplicate contact manager,Mboximport,nightly tester and talk back

perhaps an errant keypress or thunderbird grabbed focus. If you haven't been able to recreate you could close it as WFM and reopen if you see it again at future date.
