I use to write in Swedish using ASCII code in order to get the right words, I can not do it. My thuderbird is in portuguese.

So your complaint is you cannot choose ASCII from the encoding menu? 
Why would you want to use ascii for swedish? You need western (iso8859-1).

No response was ever received for this. I don't think we can do much about it, and Magnus' suggestion seems sufficient anyway. Resolving invalid.
