The mail window crach (freeze) while checking for new mail.
Took a time getting messages. 
Not responding at all. 

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Get mail
2.Show how many messages are
3.Crach, not responding
Actual Results:  
try to end process

Expected Results:  
nothing happened

A hang is not a crash.  Updating summary.

Which thunderbird version is this? If not 1.5.0.x, can you reproduce with that? Or a nightly build?

Thunderbird 1.8.0.7. Aniway, take too long for getting mail, hanging.
Why do I get "not responding".... 
What exactly means "updating summary"? 
Should I back to the oldest version?

I assume you mean 1.5.0.7. First (right click) and compact the Inbox. If it doesn't help, you can try to delete the .msf file for the Inbox (it will get regenerated). You can find it in your profile folder <http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder>. Does that help?

It just means i updated the summary of this bug (changing crash -> hang).

OP is gone - mail address fails

WFM version 3 alpha 1 (20070109). I didn't test 1.5.
