When going to my home page (yahoo), I go to the search engine bar and type in a query. In the middle of typing, the focus somehow gets lost, and continues down in the yahoo search box field. I have not been able to figure how this happens, and as such, I cannot reproduce it normally (though it still happens).

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a window (yahoo)
2. Type in a query in the search engine bar (preferably with several words)
3. Wait for the focus to go down to the yahoo search box field
As far as I can tell there is javascript that focuses the search input box when the page finishes loading. (Like Google does for the username input box for the google accounts login.) Also, Yahoo seems to focus the search box when certain things like clicking the background are done in the page content.
This is probably caused by the the page finishing loading while you're typing in the search bar and Yahoo's javascript focusing the search box.

I can only reproduce the Firefox search bar losing focus at Yahoo's site on site load finish and when I do things in the content pane that. For example clicking on page background.
If you can reproduce this while your mouse pointer is not over the page (maybe keep it over a toolbar and don't move it) when typing in the Firefox search bar and the search bar was focused after the page finished loading, please reopen this bug.

Ok, I found a verifiable procedure:

1) go to yahoo, and log in
2) go to the firefox search bar, type in a query but in the middle of your typing move the mouse (do not click) to the part of the page where there are the mail, weather, local, etc. buttons. After a delay of a second or so, in the middle of your typing once the buttons expand automatically...the focus changes to the yahoo search field.

Confirmed on latest trunk 2007073105. Very, very, very annoying. This bug has annoyed me for the longest time and I finally figure it out then found this bug.

My steps to reproduce is as follows and I do these steps about 50 times a day when starting the browser, hovering over the mail or weather then go to go to another page.

1) Go to yahoo.com
2) Hover over any of the six boxes (mail, messenger, radio, weather, local or horoscopes) in the top right corner until they expand.
2a) While they are expanded move the mouse to the location bar
3) Click in the location bar (as soon as you click in the location bar, the boxes that you earlier hovered over collapse)...then the yahoo search bar steals focus.

I do this very fast (does not need to be fast to reproduce) and after clicking in the location bar start to type and it always goes in the yahoo search bar.

Expected results: upon yahoo loading the search bar can have all the focus it wants but if I select the location bar at any time...that is what I want!! Don't steal my focus!

Ever confirmed: true
Summary: Focus lost erratically on search engine field → Yahoo search box (input field) steals focus under different scenarios
Sorry, actually have to do it semi fast in my scenario so you you click in the location bar and start typing before the expanded box collapses all of the way.
