User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8.1) Gecko/20061031 Camino/1.1a1+
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8.1) Gecko/20061031 Camino/1.1a1+
Every once in a while (not necessarily a predictable/repeatable event), I'm browsing the Internet with Camino, and the iTunes song I'm listening to will skip, for no apparent reason, as there doesn't even
Reproducible: Sometimes
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Get iTunes running. (I have 7.0x)
2. Open a large group of tabs or a large page
3. Listen for a skip
Actual Results:
Music skipped for half a second.
Expected Results:
It should not have affected speaker playback at all.

What are your system specs? This never happens to me (ever).
iMac G5 bought end of summer '05... iTunes 7 Mac OSX 10.4...
running a nightly build of Camino... I have four apps open all the time: camino, itunes, mail, vienna... that's all. Internal speaker playback is affected, not sure about headphones.. i've never tired.

Specifically what's *in* that tab group you're opening? We have some issues with Flash and Java performance that are being worked on, but if iTunes isn't able to keep up when it's a background app, that sounds an awful lot like an iTunes bug, and not a Camino one.

It would be helpful if you could run some kind of CPU monitor so you can see if you are getting CPU usage near 100% when this happens; skipping could be either CPU or disk starvation.
If it's CPU, it's probably one of our known performance bugs. If it's disk, it may or may not be Camino; for example, Mail uses an SQLite database in 10.4, and SQLite in certain modes will perform disk synchronizations that might interfere with iTunes' read-ahead.
CPU spikes sometimes...
After playing around with Activity Monitor open for a while, it happens often when I open a group of tabs and try to close one of them before it finishes loading... Camino obviously hangs a bit, but it doesn't always happen because of that.
It could be flash content. I did not think about that... Flash is known to slow down in Gecko.
The sad part is that Activity monitor uses the most CPU of all the apps I'm running.
I see what you mean about Mail. My CPU usage jumps to ca. 20% when getting new mail (the problem of having five accounts).
It could be a combination of Mail checking at a random time + flash content + me closing tabs too fast resulting in a CPU spike that causes the music to skip.
How many tabs are you opening when you see this (and are you still seeing it in a2)?
jf, can you respond to comment 6 please (test with 1.1b or a recent nightly)?

Closing this bug as INCOMPLETE due to lack of updates. If you can reproduce using Camino 1.5 RC or a recent branch nightly and can respond to comment 6 please reopen.
