User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 2.0.50727) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1) Gecko/20061010 Firefox/2.0 When I open internet explorer and click a favourite my browser changes to Firefox when the site opens. In google in internet explorer every search opens a firefox window with some advertising website such as http://www.mymahjongclub.com/002/. Is this normal or is it a bug? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.search in google in internet explorer 2. open a favourite in explorer 3. Actual Results: same results
could it be because you have firefox as the default browser? try changing the default browser.
Having Firefox as the default browser obviously shouldn't make clicking a bookmark in IE open Firefox. My guess is that your computer / account is infected with malware, and the malware's method of showing you unwanted advertisements is to open them in the default browser. What happens if you set Internet Explorer as your default browser and do the same things?
Does this still happen with Firefox 3.6.3 or later?
