Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.8.1) Gecko/20061010 Firefox/2.0
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.8.1) Gecko/20061010 Firefox/2.0

every time i start firefox i have to go to tools and click options, then advanced, then network and then settings so i can move the connection from "manual proxy" to "direct conection to the internet". I uninstalled 1.5 firefox and installed version 2 but the problem remains. all my pc settings for the internet are correct and the homenetwork is working well, all other pc's on the network are running fox without a hassle. I run ADSL2

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
there are no steps, it is just refusing to stay in the direct connection to the internet,

Actual Results:
after changing the setting from manual to direct it works, but if i crash fox or i need to restart it for any reason the direct connection to the net is gone.

Expected Results:
stay in "direct connection to the internet" mode not manual proxy.
Most likely this is due to HideIP Platinum, and this is a duplicate of bug 350683.

See bug 350863 comment #1 for how to fix this. Please report back.

hide Ip platinum is currenty off

People have had problems even after uninstalling it, because it doesn't remove the user.js file from your profile. Firefox then reads that in each time you start it up and the proxy prefs are changed.
