For the record, I am running OS X 10.4.8 with latest security updates.
When downloading, the progress indicator does not display the progress of the download; it's just empty for the duration of the download.

This problem still occurs with some large downloads and also when the download is happening on a wireless connection, even a fast connection.

Is this problem reproducible with a new firefox profile?

Cannot confirm with Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9b2pre) Gecko/2007110801 Minefield/3.0b2pre and there has been no more recent action on this bug.
