A fresh thunderbird trunk update (no local changes) and clobber gives me a build with no message header pane, that XUL is just a small grey bar. Seems like a major regression, unless it's local havoc.

(The screenshot shows my change for bug 278096, but I double-checked without my changes, problem is the same.)
my AUS updated trunk build doesn't show the header problem. 
Oh wait, I remember jst telling me about a problem just like this. It's apparently linux only but no one has been able to figure out why. Any JS errors in the console? This is a dupe of Bug 358339 but if you can help us figure it out since you've got a debug linux build that would be really helpful.
