This bug can be reproduced for Firefox2.0 on Solaris Nevada and SuSe9.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Launch Firefox2.0.
2.Load www.mozilla.org,and Ctrl+F to load find toolbar.
3.Enter "Firefox" in find field and click "Hightlight all".

Actual Results:  
All "Firefox" are hightlight, but about 2 minutes later, click "Hightlight all", it doesn't work.

Expected Results:  
"Hightlight all" can work well all the time.

Do you mean using highlight all in a new page after mozilla.org?

Same with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1) Gecko/20061010 Firefox/2.0

It is easier to reproduce with following steps:

1. Open www.mozilla.org
2. Open Findbar and search for Firefox
3. Press Highlight all
4. Open a new Tab
5. Go back to the first tab

After you return to tab #1 the button 'Highlight all' doesn't work as long as I don't reload the page.

Gavin, we shouldn't mark this bug as dupe of bug 279022 until we know the real issue detected by the reporter. I also have seen it without using the tab feature but I'm not able to reproduce it at the moment. Perhaps this is a focus problem.

Reopening until we are sure that's a dupe.

Thanks Henrik Skupin,your reproductive steps are so clearly.
As you said, i also found if don't use new tab feature, this bug also can be reproduced, but we will wait for a little long time, maybe 20 minutes is ok.

I still have the problem that I can't reproduce it anymore. Let the site stay open for a hour doesn't let the highlight feature freeze. It's still working.

Reporter please test again with a current build and take a look inside the error console if anything is mentioned there. Don't forget to switch on strict warnings (reachable over about:config) before.

I also can not reproduce this bug when just wait after clicking Highlight.but it also can be reproduced according to the steps of Henrik Skupin, so i doubt that maybe it is related to some special steps besides net tab.
