361971 - RFE: Request to have option to "save open tabs" when exiting the browser

This is currently the only thing keeping me from switching fully to Firefox from AvantBrowser. Typically I have a LOT of tabs open for my various research projects that I like to come back to the next day, without having to browse through favorites or history to figure out which ones I was reading. Avant has a feature that saves all open tabs, and then when you next open the browser, it gives you a list of what you had open. You can uncheck the ones you don't want, which is also very handy.

In Firefox 2:
Tools->Options->Main
When Firefox starts: Show my windows and tabs from last time

That doesn't cover your "uncheck the ones you don't want" or "prompt at shutdown", I guess, but I don't think that those options are likely to get much traction. Feel free to reopen this bug report if you're not satisfied :)

When I go to Tools- Options, I don't have a Main tab. I have dug around in the options settings (did that before I made the request) and I can't find this option. It would solve my problem if I could. Could you advise further? Thanks so much :)

That's because you're using Firefox 1.5.0.8, and not Firefox 2. Firefox 2 is available for download at http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/ if you want to upgrade.

Hey thanks! I had clicked on check for updates, and it said I was up to date, so I didn't think to do that. Appreciate your assistance.
