Details
This problem is present in Windows "Version 3 alpha 1 (20061130)" and in
Macintosh "Version 3 alpha1 (20061129)".
The problem is that if you set a POP account to "Fetch Headers Only" then download mail, you cannot later tell Thunderbird to fetch the entire message. Clicking the "Click HERE to download the rest of the message" link does not cause the message to be fetched. Clicking that link does not initiate any network connection.
To reproduce:
- Send yourself a message (with an attachment or some body text)
- With Thunderbird set to "Fetch Headers Only" for that account, check mail.
- Open/preview received message.
- Note body shows "Only the headers for this message were downloaded..." and "Click here to download the rest..."
- Click the 'here' link to download the rest of the message
- Note message is NOT downloaded. Note there is no network connection attempted to the mail server.
This problem is NOT present in version 2 alphas of Thunderbird. In those versions, clicking the link causes the message to be fetched and displayed.
