what happened to the "x" for closing a tabbed browser, it went away, i am at version 1.5.0.8

works for me on 1.5.0.8

Do you have any extensions theme installed ?
Can you try if the Close Icon comes back in Safe Mode http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode ?

browser.tabs.closeButtons to 3 (puts the tab close button on the right instead of on the tabs),.. that is what i want is the tab close button on EACH tab.

Firefox 1.5 doesn't have this feature. if you had it, then it was added by an extension
--> INVALID
