Apparently, the patches submitted for bug 340677 remove the UI for restricting third-party cookies.

I agree that this UI is confusing, but it's also a step backwards for privacy, and puts Firefox notably behind IE in this respect.

I think that the following language would be a bit clearer, still not perfect, but it's improved:

[] Accept cookies
  [] But only if they come from the same domain as the page I'm viewing.

Tooltip:  (If this is unchecked, when content is included sites from other
          sites, those sites will not be permitted to set cookies. This can
          help protect your privacy, but some sites may not work correctly.)
See bug 349680 - it was removed for reasons other than language.
