FF seems to have a general problem with very large amounts of text in text area of forms. I paste DNA sequences into web forms at various research centres. The text is not properly displayed if the amount is sufficiently large - either doesn't appear in form at all or is displayed as an unreadable overlay of letters.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. paste large amount of text into text area field of any form
2.

Actual Results:  
text is sometimes not displayed at all or crunched together (see screen shot)

Expected Results:  
text readable, not inserted into single line but several lines, slider adjusted accordingly

This is probably a dup of one of the existing dependencies of bug 302294.

The "vanishing text" bug should have been fixed in Firefox 2, in bug 237085. Are you able to provide some text (and a font and font size.. those are important too) that would enable us to reproduce this?

The text crunch/overlap is a known side effect of this, however... it's bug 248202.

Jason, are you still seeing this in recently trunk nightlies? It should have been fixed back in November. The only bug that should still exist is that sections of text will vanish after highlighting (bug 345234). Please resolve if this is no longer an issue for you. Thanks!

Resolving as WFM. Text vanishing and overlapping bugs are fixed and reporter seems to be no longer in communication.

BTW in comment 3, I meant bug 348202, not bug 248202.
