From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/4.72 [en] (X11; U; Linux 2.2.14 i686) BuildID: M15 M15 never starts up, hangs with error (stated below). Also when I first started it up libIMGlue.so couldn't find libCoolSos.so.1, so I added ./Cool to the LD_LIBRARY_PATH. Afterwards I was able to register a new profile (I tried it both with the previous ~/.mozilla from NS PR1, then removed ~/.mozilla and tried again) but the browser hangs with this error everytime. I also tried moving it from /opt/netscape/mozilla-M15 to /opt/netscape/package/mozilla-M15 (based on annother simmilar bug report ID=35979) to no effect. -----BEGIN .//run-mozilla.sh ./mozilla-bin MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME=/opt/netscape/package/mozilla-M15 LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/netscape/package/mozilla-M15:/usr/java/lib/linux/native_threads/:/opt/netscape/mozilla-M15/Cool:./Cool SHLIB_PATH=/opt/netscape/package/mozilla-M15 LIBPATH=/opt/netscape/package/mozilla-M15 MOZ_PROGRAM=./mozilla-bin MOZ_TOOLKIT= moz_debug=0 moz_debugger= *** QfaServices is being registered Registering lineterm interface nNCL: registering deferred (0) Profile Manager : Profile Wizard and Manager activites : Begin Profile Manager : Command Line Options : Begin Profile Manager : Command Line Options : End ProfileManager : GetProfileDir ProfileManager : GetProfileDir Profile Manager : Profile Wizard and Manager activites : End WEBSHELL+ = 1 WEBSHELL+ = 2 assuming d&d is off for Navigator nsCollationUnix::Initialize mLocale = C nsCollationUnix::Initialize mCharset = ISO-8859-1 Inside netscape.xul overlay... nsCollationUnix::Initialize mLocale = C nsCollationUnix::Initialize mCharset = ISO-8859-1 WEBSHELL+ = 3 ****Gfx Scrollbar Special case hit!!***** Setting content window Loading page specified via openDialog ****Gfx Scrollbar Special case hit!!***** -----END ----Output from ps-- mtinberg 12823 0.0 0.6 1800 816 pts/2 S 09:47 0:00 sh ./mozilla mtinberg 12824 0.0 0.6 1832 864 pts/2 S 09:47 0:00 sh .//run-mozilla.sh ./mozilla-bin mtinberg 12830 0.2 15.7 30164 20212 pts/2 S 09:47 0:03 ./mozilla-bin mtinberg 12832 0.0 15.7 30164 20212 pts/2 S 09:47 0:00 ./mozilla-bin mtinberg 12833 0.0 15.7 30164 20212 pts/2 S 09:47 0:00 ./mozilla-bin mtinberg 12834 0.0 15.7 30164 20212 pts/2 S 09:47 0:00 ./mozilla-bin Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. ./mozilla 2. export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:./Cool 3. ./mozilla Actual Results: Hangs Expected Results: Started

Can you review the release notes, particularly the installation notes for UNIX http://www.mozilla.org/projects/seamonkey/release-notes/M15-detail.html#UNIX_INS TALL Thanks.

jrgm@netscape.com, sorry for sending another bad one your way.
Well, I don't know about 'bad', but in reading the bug report, it wasn't clear that mtinberg was following the documented method for *nix installation. mtinberg : if you go over that section of the release notes, I think you should be able to run correctly. If not, then reopen this bug.
