Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; de-AT; rv:1.8.0.8) Gecko/20061108 SeaMonkey/1.0.6
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; de-AT; rv:1.8.0.8) Gecko/20061108 SeaMonkey/1.0.6

Whenever I open an attachment, using doubleclick, which has a handler in browser (means png, gif, jpg, pdf, ...), my current window/current tab is used to navigate to the attachment. This may cause data loss (forms in webpages).

It would be a good idea here to either use the value in browser.link.open_external or define a new pref (browser.link.open_internal ?)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Display a mail in Mail/News which as an png, gif, jpg, ... attachment
2 [review]. Doubleclick the attachment

Actual Results:
The last viewed page is lost as the attachmend will be displayed there. Hitting "Back" doesn't always restore the page, as sometimes form data is lost.

Expected Results:
I would like to be able to select what SeaMonkey has to do when an attachment has to be displayed in browser.

If someone gives me a hint where this one has to be fixed, I could try to do this on my own.

No; that only covers links clicked from a message. Attachments still behave as reported.

Dupe of bug 196974, I think. Manuel Reimer, if you agree, please mark this as a dupe.
