Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.8) Gecko/20061025 Firefox/1.5.0.8
Build Identifier: Mozilla Thunderbird version 1.5.0.8 (20061025)

When in Offline mode, opening the "Subscribe" dialog box (File->Subscribe...) produces a message "Please wait..." and cycling progress bar. I let it wait for hours, but nothing happens. If I Cancel, go online (File->Offline->uncheck Work Offline), then re-open the Subscribe dialog box, it shows me folders I can subscribe to as expected.

If "Subscribe" doesn't work when in offline mode, it should probably be grayed-out in the File menu when in offline mode.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go offline (File -> Offline -> Work offline)
2. Open "subscribe" dialog (File -> Subscribe...)
3. Note the "Please wait..." message.
Actual Results:
Obediently you wait, but nothing happens.

Expected Results:
The "subscribe" dialog should probably be disabled while offline.
Alternatively, the "subscribe" dialog could simply show nothing but not say "Please wait...".
This is actually the very old bug 92852, which is entered as a suite bug but probably would be fixed, if ever, in core code.
