When I open Firefox, I am automatically given an error page.

I receive the following error page:
The requested URL could not be retrieved
While trying to retrieve the URL: http://www.yahoo.com/
The following error was encountered:

Actual Results:
I am given the error page.
Expected Results:
It would open up to my Yahoo homepage or any page that I searched for.
I haven't made any changes to my computer that would affect Firefox, so I am at a loss. Thanks for your time!

Try some of the suggestions there. Check your proxy settings, if you use them (tools-->options: advanced-->network-->connection: settings). If you have internet explorer working, see if its proxy settings are the same as firefox's. Maybe clear your private data (see the link in the tools menu) and restart.
