"File" -> "New" -> "Event..." 2. from within the Event dialog select "File" -> "New" -> "Address Book Card" Finding widgets of the Event dialog are unaccessible while the "Address Book Card" is opened."Address Book Card" is modal. Expectation "Address Book Card" should be modeless; Event and Task dialog should be accessible while "Address Book Card" is opened

Lightning 1.0pre (20090304) with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1b3pre) Gecko/20090304 Shredder/3.0b3pre. I can confirm that the new New Contact dialog opened by the Event dialog is modal. But opening the New Contact dialog from the Thunderbird Address Book dialog shows the same behavior.

There is a bug for this already in Thunderbird. So this is the normal behaviour of the card-dialog an this bug is a duplicate of Bug 115904
