User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; de; rv:1.8.1.1) Gecko/20061204 Firefox/2.0.0.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; de; rv:1.8.1.1) Gecko/20061204 Firefox/2.0.0.1 We miss a function in Firefox version 2. In the 1.x versions, we could determine in the tab settings property page whether new pages should be opened - in a new window - in a new tab - the same tab Now we have updated to Firefox 2 and now we can no longer choose to open in the same tab because this setting is not more available. If on one of our PCs in the Firefox 1.x version the setting was to open in the same tab, it first opens in Version 2 in the same tab, too. But if we we change the setting to open in a new tab or new window, we can not more change to the same tab setting, because this setting is not more available. We need this functionality for we have an application that uses the browser and must always use the same tab. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. in the menu select the extra->preferences 2. choose the pane tabs 3. there is no choice to open a new site in the same tab
The ui for it has been removed because the setting caused problems so people would not be encouraged to use it but the preference can still be used - in about:config set browser.link.open_newwindow to 1
