You probably experienced an issue covered at http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_in_use#End_processes and can switch back to your original profile using http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_manager#Accessing_the_Profile_Manager
You're using a very old version. Please upgrade to Firefox 2.0.
It seems that your profile was in use, so a new profile was created. please see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_in_use or http://kb.mozillazine.org/Lost_bookmarks no -feedback resolving as worksforme - If you can reproduce this in a latest build/release feel free to reopen
