See upcoming testcase. The presence of certain characters makes the copy/paste behavior of Mozilla stop at that point.
I can see this happening even in Mozilla1.7.12.

This was fixed between 2007-01-24 and 2007-01-25:

I can see it also fixed in FF2.0.0.6, so I bet this was fixed by bug 315473.
