User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.9) Gecko/20061206 Firefox/1.5.0.9 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.9) Gecko/20061206 Firefox/1.5.0.9 Recently (a few days ago) there was a automatic update to the Mozilla Firefox software, and since that time, my McAfee Desktop Firewall continually displays pop-ups which request that I approve or deny the network connection (for some webpages to load this may take 8-10 clicks of approval). I have added Firefox automatically and manually in the "application policy" list as an approved program, but there is a problem. With every new port and distant end IP address used, this program now is popping up as a threat ~ even with "learn mode" enabled. Why is this occuring now? It didn't happen in the past. Is there a setting that I must change in Firefox? (My firewall parameters have remained unchanged and this problem doesn't occur with IE so the problem is with Firefox.) Here are the particulars for my McAfee firewall program: License Type: Licensed Created On: Tuesday, April 12, 2005 Product Version: 8.5 Build Number: 260 IDS Signature Version: 101 Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Load my version of the firewall, and either manually set or automatically set the the program options for Firefox. 2.Open Firefox and what what happens. 3. If necessary, I can send screenshots of what is occuring. Cheers, Nick Actual Results: Read above. Expected Results: Already explained. The software didn't require continual, multiple approvals to connect to a webpage prior to this software release.
The problem lies entirely with your firewall. Often, you'll need to remove Firefox from the allowed programs and add it again manually. Please contact McAfee for end-user support.
