User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.9) Gecko/20061206 Firefox/1.5.0.9 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.9) Gecko/20061206 Firefox/1.5.0.9 To be sure this is the same problem, Firefox closes automatically when I hit "send" to reply to an e-mail on myspace. It does not do this with Internet Explorer. And it seemed to have just started with the new upgrade of Firefox. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open a message in myspace e-mail. 2. Hit reply to e-mail and type a reply. 3. Hit "send" reply... Firefox browser closes. Actual Results: Firefox browser closed.. Expected Results: Firefox browser to close. It should have taken me back to my myspace in-box.
Did you also try it in Firefox's safe-mode to exclude extension/theme problems, with a re-installation in a new empty folder or with a new profile? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_Mode_(Firefox) http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_Folder
If it is caused by an extension and you can reproduce the problem only with this extension, can you provide a Talkback ID for the crash? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Talkback
I have the same problem responding to emails in my MySpace account. I'm running Firefox 2.0, the latest version as of today 22 Jan 2007. I have absolutely no themes or extensions loaded into my Firefox browser, so the source of this problem is not themes or extensions related.
an additional Firefox bug on the MySpace page. When you click the "browse" tab to search for friends on MySpace, you can do 2 searches: a "basic" search and an "advanced" search. Using Firefox 2.0 for Apple, you cannot click the "advanced" tab in the top right of the page.
I was the original poster of this problem. And it "suddenly" stopped happening, I THINK, after I ran Lavasoft Ad-Aware. It had been almost 3 months since I ran it. I had already tried re-loading Firefox. I cleared out my cache and cookies. This is the only thing I can think of. You might try it.
