Hi, I apologize if this is not correct place to request, but is it possible to load TB from a read only media. We tried Portable Thunderbird but it hangs when it tries to update files in a mailbox or a profile (my guess). The goal is to allow customers to load TB from a CD-ROM and allow them to read message.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Get Portable Thunderbird.
2. Burn it on a CD
3. Run it.

Actual Results:  
TB hangs.

Expected Results:  
It allows one to read messages in a mailbox (mbox) stored on CD.

I don't know how possible it is, but it's not "supported". I doubt it will work without write privileges to the directory where the mails are.

Huge quantities of people have to save old e-mails to read-only media, like CD-ROMs.

If a normal user wants to read old e-mail from a CD-ROM, it seems that he/she can't with Thunderbird (i'm talking about a normal user, not an expert).

This is a very usual case, so it puts Thunderbird as a less capable program when compared to the competition?
