I would like to see the the ability to color tabs like the color tab extension in FireFox. Each new tab is given a unique random color. Thanks, Mark Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
This isn't the sort of thing most people would want, and we don't add prefs to Camino for skins/themes/colors/etc. (Also, please file bugs and requests with descriptive summaries.)
Additionally, we talked about this this summer during the SoC discussions, and decided against it.
Josh really wants to do this, and we decided to let him play with it, so reopening and ccing him. cl
Created attachment 284068 [details] [diff] [review] proof-of-concept v1.0 Here is a proof of concept. Things that still need to be done: 1. Improve the color averaging algorithm. It is really basic, the the biggest problem is muted tab colors. 2. Add a pref interface so this isn't on by default. 3. General cleanup and sanity checks. This is shockingly simple. Approximately 50 lines of code, so even if it doubles in its final form its a pretty lightweight change.

Like ChromaTabs, we should have the option of generating a color based on the domain.
