User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; da; rv:1.8.0.9) Gecko/20061206 Firefox/1.5.0.9 Build Identifier: I have created a folder named 'bugzilla-com' under the 'contrib' folder, which will contain the source for the component. When I'm trying to add a file it tells me it requires write access. cvs add -- README (in directory D:\Temp\mozilla\webtools\bugzilla\contrib\bugzilla-com\) cvs [server aborted]: "add" requires write access to the repository I'm using the following CVSROOT CVSROOT=:pserver:anonymous@cvs-mirror.mozilla.org:/cvsroot Can someone please help me with this problem? Do I have to get my own account for the cvs repository and how do I get one? Reproducible: Always https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=315071
Here is a link that will help let you know what you need to provide for CVS access: http://www.mozilla.org/hacking/getting-cvs-write-access.html Basically, a voucher, SRs if you want write access, a CVS form, and SSH Key are needed.

I just snail-mailed the CVS form to you yesterday. I assume you will receive it in the middle of next week. Where do I get such a SSH key?

Thanks, I'll take a look at the URL. Marcia, did you receive cvs form?
You don't need to add the files in cvs to be able to attach them to the bugzilla bug. You need to be an established contributor before anyone will vouch for your cvs access.

(In reply to comment #5) > You don't need to add the files in cvs to be able to attach them to the > bugzilla bug. What you are saying is that I have to add the files to this bug (read: bug 365839) instead adding them to cvs. Correct? > You need to be an established contributor before anyone will > vouch for your cvs access. How do I get an established contributor? By supplying first application?

Correct. > How do I get an established contributor? By supplying first application? By contributing lots of patches to the point where other folks get tired of checking in for you. :) For the Bugzilla project, there's a bunch of documentation on our processes at http://www.bugzilla.org/developers/ . The Contributors Guide would be of particular importance here.
