Currently, if spam (or in the case that sparked this bug, a troll) comes from Google Groups, Mozilla cannot easily remove messages, as with messages posted via news.mozilla.org. Instead, Mozilla has to open a ticket with Giganews.

Google can't seem to care less, when it comes to spammers/trolls using their service to post, so abuse reports are futile.

It would greatly help, if Mozilla could easily remove those messages, without being required to open a ticket with Giganews. I have no idea how willing Giganews would be to this, but at this point, it's worth a try.

With 6 spam messages sent to mozilla.support.firefox via Google Groups in the past 30 hours, let's hope there's some progress on this bug. :-)
I sent a block of 14 messages posted via Google to Giganews for canceling a few hours ago.
I can't really do anything with this so getting it out of my queue.  Giganews still has the ticket open, so it's just in limbo somewhere.  I'll still pester them periodically.

FWIW, I emailed them in March (2012) and this policy hadn't changed.

I don't think this is really going to change, so there's nothing we can do to fix it.
