Description

11 years ago
User-Agent:       Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.1) Gecko/20061204 Firefox/2.0.0.1
Build Identifier: version 2 beta 1 (20070115)

In favorite or recent folders view, when you have more than one account, the Inbox folders aren't always positioned the same way. If you add a folder to the favorite folders view, Inbox folders are sometimes swapped.

For example, say I have 2 accounts (A and B). Prior to setting a folder as favorite, the favorite folders view contains:
 * Inbox - A
 * Inbox - B
 * Test folder
 * Test subfolder

After, the content is:
 * Inbox - B
 * Inbox - A
 * Test folder
 * Test subfolder

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Try to add/remove favorite folders from the folders list.
2. Compare the Inbox position of the Favorite folders view to the Recent view
Actual Results:
Inbox folders positions change randomly.

Expected Results:
Inbox folders positions shouldn't have changed.

I don't think we'll get to this before final.
Flags: blocking-thunderbird2? → blocking-thunderbird2-
Target Milestone: --- → Thunderbird 3
I see this also for "recent".
Severity: normal → trivial

should we have an ordering?

The Recent submenu in the folder picker (e.g. Message->Move to) does force an alphabetic ordering. Maybe this View could too.
