Build: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.2; en-US; rv:1.8.1.2pre) Gecko/20070113 Thunderbird/2.0b1 Mnenhy/0.7.4.10002 ID:2007011404

On http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/thunderbird/releases/2.0b1.html#new we highlight: Improved Offline Management: Thunderbird (Linux and Windows) automatically adjusts the offline state based on current network connectivity.

This does not work when you disable your Network Connection. Thunderbird does not recognize this and don`t switch to the offline mode.

Reproduced on Windows XP, Vista and Linux.

Requesting blocking flag because of the Whats New Feature List :-)

Try setting this:

network.autodial-helper.enabled

to false in about:config tomcat.

see https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=359134#c11

Hi scott,

you`re right, thx. It seems on one machine the VM Connections caused this problem and on a second machine the "network.autodial-helper.enabled" set to "false" is working fine.
FYI, I added a release note item for disabling network.autodial-helper.enabled to the beta 2 release notes.
I think the release note item is all we are going to be able to do for Thunderbird 2. I don't know enough about the autodial-helper code to understand the ramifications of setting that to false by default.

FWIW, I had extreme performance issues (essentially a hang) on windows vista when network disabled ... was using current trunk coming back from summit.
Nikolay, can you reproduce comment 5?

No problem on window XP, if I disable all network connection its automaticaly goes to offline mode. When pressing get mail ask explicitly to go online - if click ok - just give you error connecting to server.
This wfm. Carsten do you still have the issue ?
Hey Guys,

wfm now !
Thanks !
