Using 2000-04-21-10m16 commercial build mac OS 9.0 Ref bug #32101 Fix for crash in bug #32101 was to remove access to Save As from View Source window. That's fine on win32 and linux, but Mac still has accessible save menu item (a browser menu item) "Save Page As" when focus is in a view source window of a mail message. When attempt to save from a mail message source window, a crash occurs. Note: crash does not occur when attempting to save either a page loaded in browser or when invoking the menu item from a view source window for a browser page (the latter doesn't even invoke the process). 1. Go to mail window, login to mail account, select a mail message. 2. View|Page Source. (can do this from either 3-pane mail window or standalone message window, no difference in result) 3. Click in view source window to make sure focus is there and select menu item File|Save Page As. Save the message (makes no difference if you let default name ride or change name). Result: Crash occurs. Will provide talkback report and/or macsbug report.

Using 2000-07-24-08 commercial build with mac OS 9.0 I see two differing results when trying to Save Page As from a View Source window for a mail message. 1. I get an alert: Unknown Error upon clicking the Save button (usually if changing the filename and or location). 2. I crash (more consistent if I use default filename&location). Talkback will be attached when I can get to the server. Reopening... Double-checked NT and linux. Am seeing the same thing. Removing pp keyword and changed summary.

Hi Bill, This is an issue with View Source - Save As. It just gets populated from a mail/news url, but the way its called is much the same way as view source is for a web page. - rhp

nav triage team: [NEED INFO] We recommend that if this crash still exists, you just remove the menu item so user can't do this. Reassigning to mail

reassigning to rhp. We probably shouldn't have any menus in here. I noticed that the browser doesn't. So perhaps they changed their code and we need to do the same.

Yes, crash still exists using mac OS 9.0 with aug 18 commercial build. Just like I described in my July24 comments. Will attach a talkback report from today's build. This crash and the issue of menus in the page source window have come and gone a million times in seamonkey. At one point in the past when rhp took out the menus for the view source window, it still was able to be accessed on mac because the menus from browser took over the mail message view source window. Please consider Mac as a different bird when fixing this. Please let's get it over with once and for all. Note: aug18 build crashes on NT and linux, too. Again, this has come and gone throughout seamonkey history.

Sorry, this Mac crash is still present using aug30 commercial build. Menus not present in pc (NT and linux), but are accessible on mac -- like I mentioned in my comments from 08-18.

It is crashing like this for mail. There seems to be a difference in behavior on the view source mail window for the mac and all other platforms. My mac build is pretty horked right now and I am down to repulling a fresh tree :-( Ugh. - rhp

With a build today (9/7/00) I tried this on a mozilla debug build and it worked fine :-( Sooo...this may be one of those issues that only surfaces in optimized builds, but not sure. - rhp
